IFSC Oceania Speed Climbing Continental Cup/National Speed Climbing Championship/
This competition will be held at: Blake Park 40 Kawaka Street, Mount Maunganui, Tauranga 3116 and hosted by Bay of Plenty Sport Climbing Association. To be held in conjunction with the IFSC Oceania Continental Speed Cup.
Climbing New Zealand Lead Championships - Masters, Para, Open, U19, U17
Format: 2 Qualifiers, 1 final
This event is a selection event for all athletes entered, and the only event for these categories for National and International selection for Lead Climbing in the 2024/25 season.
National Lead Championship for U15, U13 and U11

Boulder Battle #3
Another fun evening of crazy climbs and pizza.
Welcome to climbers from other gyms who have heard about our good times and want a bit of the action. But are you ready? It’s tricksy stuff.
Turn up and turn out your best bouldering moves. Climb hard, up crazy each other. Come for the climbing, stay for the FREE pizza.
$10 entry fee for climbers. Additional $10 for gym entry if you are not a Rocktopia member. Whānau welcome.

Northern Rocks B'day Bash Competition
Not a BOPSCA event… but plenty of our climbers will be there…

Join Us for an Epic Birthday Celebration & Climbing Competition at Northern Rocks!
Get ready for a massive day of climbing, fun, and community as we celebrate our birthday with an exciting gym reset and an action-packed competition!
After the CNZ Youth & Masters Nationals we will be RESETTING the whole gym!! As it’s also our 5 year anniversary, this calls for.. A PARTY!
Event Schedule:
Round 1: 1:00pm
Round 2: 3:30pm
Finals: 6:00pm – Top 6 climbers (male, female, and gender-inclusive categories) battle it out in a thrilling finals showcase.
Aerial Hoop Showcase: 5:30pm – Enjoy a mesmerizing performance before the finals kick-off!
Entertainment:
DJ Connexiones will be spinning tunes all day long.
MC Zane Bray will keep the energy high and the crowd hyped.
Food & Drinks:
Sausage sizzle
Toasties and sweet treats
Grab a refreshing beer/cider/wine/non-alch beverage as you cheer on the finalists!
Community Competition: To celebrate our 5 year Birthday and a FULL GYM RESET and our brand-new grading system…… we’re hosting a fun competition on our freshly reset boulders! Choose between two climbing rounds (1pm or 3:30pm) and crush as many problems as you can for 2 hours.
Top 6 climbers will go head-to-head in the finals at 6pm. Categories include Youth, Opens, and Masters.
Plus, spot prizes, sponsor giveaways, and more!
It’s going to be an epic day at Northern Rocks! Don’t miss it!

IFSC WORLD CUP SEOUL 2024
Abby, Ned, Sarah and Julian will pull out all stops in Korea. Team NZ, Team BOPSCA represent.
Speedy Saturday
Get your Spider-Man on! The sun is shining and the weather looks like it will play ball on Saturday morning at the speed wall in Blake Park.
Everyone is welcome - we are thrilled with just how much interest the sport is getting following all the exposure and excitement of the Olympic games. This is your chance to give it a try.
Bring your water bottle, snacks and sunscreen. Bring your shoes and harness if you have them, but if not, we have some you can borrow.
It's $5 per climber on the day, or FREE if you are a BOPSCA member (it's a great reason to join - not to mention all those other benefits like our outdoor trips that will start up again in November...)
NOTE: The wall is an outdoor facility and climbing safely on it is weather dependent. While the forecast looks good, if things change then either rain or wind can make it unsafe to climb and we will close the wall. In that case, we will message here on Facebook, so please check back on Saturday morning before coming down.

We’re kick starting the club/gym community with some tricksy-set boulder problems set by the dream team of Mischa, Jorja and Abby. Get your battle gears on for some crazy moves, some daring dynos, cruizy tunes,, a fierce competition and FREE pizza. Lookout, you local lunatics!
